Police seizes 6 vehicles; arrests 06 drivers in Baramulla

Srinagar, July 19 (KIP)-Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, police have seized 06 vehicles and arrested 06 drivers in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla & SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO Police Station Sheeri & SHO Police Station Kreeri seized 6 vehicles (2 tippers, 2 Dumpers, 2 Tractors) & arrested 6 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Gantamulla Payeen & Frastahaar Kreeri. They have been identified as Anzar Malla son of Shabir Ahmad resident of Sheeri, Ghulam Hassan Malik son of Mohammad Munawar resident of Kitchama, Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad resident of Hajin Bandipora, Mumtaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Aziz resident of Nadihal Bandipora, Ab Hameed Waza son of Gh Mohd & Omer Waza son of Ab Rashid, both residents of Frastahaar.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Sheeri & Police Station Kreeri and investigation has been taken up.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
