CEC Kargil distributes first financial assistance to labourers after Establishment of Ladakh Building

Kargil,July 20 (KIP)- Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the first financial distribution assistance to labourers after the establishment of Ladakh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfares Board. Around 2.98 Crore will be distributed among the beneficiaries.

The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Srikant Suse; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kargil, Razia Khatoon and a large number of labourers.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC of Kargil expressed his satisfaction with providing financial assistance to the labor community. He remarked that this moment is one of his most gratifying achievements since assuming the role of Chairman, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil.

CEC Kargil also thanked LG Ladakh, Hon’ble Dr.BD Mishra and Commissioner/Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar for their continuous support and prompt action to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Dr Jaffer stated that the upliftment of marginalized sections of society is the top priority of LAHDC Kargil. He added that holistic and inclusive socio-economic development should always be part of their developmental vision.

CEC Kargil directed ALC Kargil to uphold the rights of the Labour community and implement the laws of labourers on the ground in letter and spirit.

He also directed ALC Kargil to immediately address the grievances and issues of the labourers, especially those cases of conflict in nature with the contractors regarding the delayed payment of their hard work.

The CEC also directed ALC to hold various camps at sub-divisional level for the new registrations and impart awareness among the people about the rights of the labour community and benefits of various government sponsored schemes as well.

DC Kargil Srikant Suse also congratulated the labour community for receiving the financial assistance which was delayed due to the non-functioning of Ladakh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the CEC of Kargil for addressing the issue with the higher authorities of UT Ladakh and J&K. He noted that the positive outcome is a result of the continuous efforts of CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon.

DC Kargil requested the labour community to also take benefit of various welfare schemes of the government so that maximum benefit could reach the deserving beneficiaries.

DC Shrikant directed ALC Kargil to execute outreach programs with other departments so that people will get to know about various welfare schemes of the Government of India.
