CPI(M) will not participate in broadcast/telecast programme of Doordarshan Kashmir

Politics shouldn’t be based on religious lines: Tarigami

Srinagar, September 12 (KIP)-Despite tall claims of Election Commission to provide opportunities to political parties to address their voters through broadcast/telecast by DDK and AIR, it is unfortunate that DDK has dictated their terms in such a way that renders the scripts submitted unwanted and irrelevant.

In such a situation, CPI(M) does not feel it convenient to take part in such electoral telecasts.

Politics shouldn’t be based on religious lines: Tarigami

CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Wednesday said that politics should not be based on religious lines, nor should religion interfere in political matters. He said that development should not be measured by religious considerations.

Addressing rallies in various villages of the Kulgam constituency, Tarigami said, “Politics has nothing to do with religion, and it never did in the past, nor will it in the future. Some people who, until yesterday, called voting a sin, are today saying it is a virtuous act.”

Tarigami further said that, together, the people of Kulgam can build a new chapter of development in the region, addressing issues such as roads, drinking water, better schools, and apple orchards. He also highlighted the electricity problem, where residents are charged high fees despite facing frequent power shortages. He assured that all these issues can be resolved with the support of the people.

“I have always raised my voice against injustice and reminded everyone that Kashmiris have been betrayed. These are our collective concerns, and we must keep them in mind and give our support wisely,” he added.
