CEC held Meeting to Review Preparations for Losar and New year Festival

Leh, December 12 (KIP)-In preparation for the upcoming Losar, Christmas and New Year festivals the Hon'ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson has convened a meeting to review the necessary arrangement at the Conference Hall of the Council Secretariat, LAHDC Leh.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillor for minority Ghulam Mehdi; Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh, Shruti Arora; Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Sonam Deachen; Additional District Divisional Commissioner, Leh, Sonam Nurboo; Executive Engineers from PDD, PHE, and R&B; Chief Medical Officer, Dolma Chuskit; Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Assistant Director of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Leh; Range Officer of the Forest Department, Vice President Ladakh Buddhist Association Rigzen Dorjey, President of the Christian Association, Leh, Sonam Parvez; President of the Merchant Association, Tsering Angchuk.
The meeting was aimed at taking stock of all preparations to ensure the successful and smooth festivals.
Discussions were held in the meeting to plan a series of celebrations in Leh market from December 20 to December 31, marking the festive season for both Losar and the New Year. The planned activities include cultural performances, choirs, and market promotions to engage the community and visitors alike.
Additionally, key issues have been addressed to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities in the market and at all cooperative stores. Critical services such as water supply and power management will be closely monitored to meet the increased demand during the event, with backup generators on standby to prevent any disruptions. Medical safety is a top priority, with well-equipped first-aid teams positioned throughout the venue, and fire safety protocols will be rigorously enforced to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and spectators.
Discussions were also held regarding the concern over the non-availability of Juniper, a plant of significant cultural and ritualistic importance during the Losar festival.
This collaborative meeting aims to ensure all aspects of the celebrations are well-organized, ensuring a festive and harmonious atmosphere for the community.
