Jammu, December 20 (KIP)-Panun Kashmir activists convened today at Sanskriti Bhavan, Roop Nagar, Jammu, to assess the preparednesjs for the upcoming Annual National Convention. The meeting saw active participation from the organizing committee and prominent leaders of the movement.
Kuldeep Raina, General Secretary of Panun Kashmir, and B.L. Kaul, Organizing Secretary, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the convention in consolidating the community’s efforts to counter the denial of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and ensuring its rightful acknowledgment in public discourse.
Kuldeep Raina remarked, “The genocide of Kashmiri Pandits is a historical truth that continues to face denial and distortion. This convention aims to consolidate our collective narrative, ensuring that the truth of our suffering and displacement is neither diluted nor forgotten. It is a call to action for every member of our community to strengthen our stand against apathy and denialism.”
B.L. Kaul stressed the importance of organizational readiness while drawing attention to the need for unity in addressing the challenges of consolidation. “Our struggle is not just about seeking justice but also about building a strong, united front to preserve our identity and highlight the deliberate denial of our genocide. This convention will serve as a cornerstone for reinvigorating our efforts,” he said.
The meeting also acknowledged the remarkable role Panun Kashmir has played in addressing the issue of genocide recognition and advocating for reparations for the displaced community. Leaders pointed out that Panun Kashmir has been at the forefront of demanding justice and reparation, tirelessly working to ensure that the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits is recognized not only by the government but by the international community as well.
In this context, leaders reiterated that carving out a separate homeland remains the only viable solution to safeguard the cultural, religious, and political rights of Kashmiri Pandits. They emphasized that only through the creation of a homeland, as outlined in the Margdarshan Resolution of 1991, can the community achieve justice, security, and the restoration of its rightful place.
The gathering concluded with a renewed pledge to make the Annual National Convention a decisive step in the fight for justice, recognition of the genocide, and the restoration of the community’s rightful place in its homeland.
