CEC chaired meeting on 18th CEC Ice Hockey Championship Leh

Leh,December 21 (KIP)-A meeting, chaired by Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh,Adv. Tashi Gyalson, was held to discuss the upcoming 18th CEC Ice Hockey Championship and other winter activities for the 2024-25 season at the NDS Ice Hockey Ground. The discussions covered a series of major tournaments, including the 18th CEC Ice Hockey Championship, the 2nd Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League, the Lt. Governor Ice Hockey Championship, the High Altitude Himalayan International Ice Hockey Championship, and the Khelo India Winter Games, all set to take place over the coming months. Adv. Gyalson emphasized the immense potential for ice hockey in Ladakh and highlighted the region’s unique advantage of offering world-class training opportunities to further support the sport’s growth. The discussions underscored the collective vision to position Ladakh as a center for winter sports, with the aim of nurturing local talent and possibly sending athletes to the Olympics in the future. CEC also conducted a detailed inspection of the under-construction Ice Hockey Rink, a priority project for the LAHDC Leh. This project is crucial for improving the region’s sports infrastructure and providing better training and playing facilities for local athletes. Adv. Gyalson reviewed the progress of the construction and stressed the importance of completing the rink on schedule to support the development of ice hockey and other winter sports in Ladakh. The meeting was attended by Namgyal Angchuk Gyapo, President of the Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh; PT Kunzang, Vice President of the Ladakh Winter Sports Club; Tundup Namgyail, President of the District Ice Hockey Association Leh; Tsering Tashi, Youth Service and Sports Officer and other members.
