Deepika Sharma inaugurates 3 day ‘Women Painters' Camp at Kala Kendra

Jammu, January 18 (KIP)- Secretary in Department of Culture, Deepika Sharma, today inaugurated a three day UT level “All Women Painters' Camp at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The event is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
In her inaugural address, Deepika Sharma highlighted the profound connection between women and creativity, emphasising that such camps offer a platform for women artists to explore and showcase their talents. She remarked on the unifying power of art and expressed hope that the camp would promote artistic skill-sharing and mutual learning among the participants.
Secretary, JKAACL, Harvinder Kour, stated that the primary objective of the camp is to promote the visual art heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. She stated that the camp is dedicated exclusively to women painters, providing them an opportunity to excel in the field of visual art and prove their mettle.
Dr. Javaid Rahi, Head of the Divisional Office, Jammu, informed that 12 artists from various regions of Jammu and Kashmir are participating in this three day long camp. He further stated that the camp would culminate with an exhibition showcasing the artworks created during the event.
Renowned artist Jang S. Barman, who also shared the presidium, praised the initiative, emphasizing the need for such events to engage women, youth and eminent artists in the creative process. He commended JKAACL for organizing the camp and creating a space for artistic collaboration and growth.
The participating artists included Anjali Bharti, Mahua Gupta, Shruti Sharma, Nidhi Jain, Isha Sharma, Mania Kapoor, Ifra Jan, Snober Jilani, Sabina Khan, Renu, Retika and Preeti Sharma.
