Srinagar, March 30 (KIP)-The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association on Sunday extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, praying for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the Union Territory.

In a statement, the National Convenor of the Association, Nasir Khuehami, emphasized that Eid-ul-Fitr is not just a celebration but a significant occasion that highlights the values of peace, unity, and truthfulness. He noted that the festival marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting observed for self-discipline, reflection, and devotion to Almighty Allah.

“The essence of Eid-ul-Fitr lies in expressing gratitude to Allah for granting us the strength to observe the month-long fast and in reaffirming our commitment to truth, sincerity, self-control, and patience,” he said.

He prayed for the well-being of Jammu and Kashmir, urging people to embrace the spirit of generosity, charity, and social responsibility. He called on individuals to support the underprivileged, particularly orphans, the economically downtrodden, and those in need.

Khuehami also stressed the importance of celebrating Eid with simplicity, in line with Islamic teachings that discourage extravagance. “Allah commands us not to indulge in excess, for He dislikes wastefulness. Let this Eid be a time for spiritual reflection, social solidarity, and a renewed commitment to communal harmony,” he stated.

He further highlighted that festivals like Eid strengthen India’s pluralistic society by fostering brotherhood, compassion, and coexistence. He reiterated that the progress of Jammu and Kashmir depends on sustained peace, economic development, and efforts to bridge social and communal divides.

Khuehami expressed hope that Eid-ul-Fitr would bring prosperity, happiness, and new opportunities for the youth of the region. He also urged society to cultivate an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and harmony.
