Kargil, April 01 (KIP)-The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Kargil, in collaboration with key stakeholders such as Special Juvenile Police Unit, CWC, and CHL, successfully concluded Pan India Rescue Operation 2.0. The operation, which ran from March 1st to March 31st across Kargil town, including Sankoo, was led by Habibullah, Protection Officer (Institutional Care) at DCPU Kargil. Its primary goal was to eradicate child labor in the district.
During the extensive month-long inspection, five cases of child labor were identified, and immediate action was taken against the responsible establishments. The owners were sensitized about child rights and the legal implications of employing minors. The DCPU emphasized the importance of education and a protective environment for children, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children from exploitation.
As part of the operation, the DCPU also issued Declaration Certificates of Child Labor-Free Establishments to hotels, units, and factories where no instances of child labor were found. This initiative recognizes and encourages businesses that comply with child protection laws and contribute to a child-friendly environment in the district.
Habibullah reiterated the DCPU’s unwavering commitment, stating, “The protection and welfare of children is our utmost priority. We are determined to eradicate child labor and ensure every child in Kargil grows up in a safe, nurturing environment.”
The DCPU Kargil remains dedicated to upholding child rights and calls upon the community to support efforts in protecting children from exploitation. Together, we can create a child-friendly Kargil where every child can realize their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
