Rajni Sethi demands Fast-Track Trial and Strictest Punishment in Heinous Crime Against Minor
16/02/2026
Jammu, February 16 (KIP)-The horrific incident in the Bishnah area of Jammu and Kashmir, where a three-year-old innocent girl was subjected to unspeakable brutality, has shaken the conscience of society. This tragedy is not merely the suffering of one family; it is a deep wound on the moral fabric of our entire community. When such an inhuman crime is committed against a child so young and defenseless, it challenges our collective humanity and raises grave concerns about the safety and security of our daughters.
Expressing profound anguish and outrage, Rajni Sethi, Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir, strongly condemned the barbaric act. She stated that she was deeply shocked and pained by this shameful crime against a small child, questioning where society is heading if even toddlers are not safe. She emphasized that crimes against children are among the most heinous and unforgivable offenses and must be dealt with an uncompromising hand under the law.
During the sacred festival of Navratri, we worship young girls as embodiments of the Divine Mother, offering them respect, love, and reverence. However, Rajni Sethi pointed out that true devotion goes far beyond rituals and ceremonies. It demands a firm commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and protection of every girl child. If we genuinely believe that our daughters represent the Goddess, then safeguarding them must be our foremost duty. A society that fails to protect its children cannot claim to uphold moral or cultural values.
She stressed that the mindset of an individual capable of committing such a heinous act against a three-year-old child is deeply perverse and inhuman. Such individuals pose a grave threat to society and have no place among civilized people. Beyond the immediate trauma inflicted upon the victim and her family, such crimes create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity within the entire community.
Rajni Sethi urged the police department to act swiftly and decisively, calling for zero tolerance toward crimes against women and children. She demanded a thorough and watertight investigation to ensure that no technical loopholes allow the accused to escape punishment. She further called for the case to be taken up in a fast-track court to ensure speedy justice, stating that justice delayed is justice denied—especially in cases involving minors.
According to her, strict and exemplary punishment under the law will send a powerful message that anyone who dares to harm our daughters will face the full force of justice. The legal process—from investigation to prosecution—must be conducted with utmost sensitivity, urgency, and professionalism, keeping the dignity of the victim at the forefront.
At the same time, Rajni Sethi appealed to society at large to remain vigilant and proactive. Ensuring the safety of children is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement agencies; it is a collective social duty. Parents, neighbors, teachers, and community leaders must work together to create a secure environment for children. Any suspicious activity must be reported immediately to the authorities, as silence and negligence can embolden criminals.
She also stressed the need to strengthen community policing, enhance surveillance in vulnerable areas, and conduct awareness programs on child safety. Schools and families should educate children, in age-appropriate ways, about personal safety and the importance of speaking up without fear.
Reiterating her demand for strict and swift action, Rajni Sethi affirmed that this innocent child is not just the daughter of one family but of the entire society. Protecting the dignity and safety of every girl child is a sacred duty that requires unwavering commitment from all sections of society.
