Imperialist Aggression Must Stop:Afzal Parrey

Kulgam,February 28 (KIP)-Former District Development Council Chairman Kulgam and senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Mohd Afzal Parrey, has strongly condemned the US-Israel airstrikes on Iran, terming them a clear manifestation of imperialist aggression and hegemonic militarism.
In a statement issued here, Parrey said the attacks, which reportedly killed at least 40 people including students at a girls’ school in Minab, represent a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty, the UN Charter and established principles of international law. He described the killing of innocent civilians as a barbaric act that exposes the inhuman face of militaristic interventions carried out under geopolitical pretexts.
Parrey asserted that the military action is part of a broader pattern of interventionist policies pursued by global imperialist powers to maintain geopolitical dominance and strategic control over the region. Invoking Marxist principles, he said such wars are not fought in the interest of ordinary people but are driven by the logic of monopoly capitalism, expansionism and the interests of the military-industrial complex. History, he said, has repeatedly shown that imperialist aggression only brings devastation and suffering to working people while benefiting ruling elites.
He further criticised statements made by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling upon the Iranian people to rise against their leadership, terming such remarks as open interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation. He said calls for regime change reflect the same imperialist mindset that undermines national self-determination and democratic rights.
Expressing full solidarity with the people of Iran, Parrey urged progressive, democratic and peace-loving forces across the world to unite against war mongering and destabilisation in West Asia. He called upon the Government of India to uphold an independent foreign policy rooted in non-alignment, anti-imperialism and respect for national sovereignty, and to unequivocally demand the immediate cessation of hostilities in the interest of regional and global peace.
