Senior Journalists Federation of India National Council from 14th at Goa

New Delhi,March 13 (KIP)- The National Council meeting of the Senior Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) will be held in Goa on March 14 and 15 to deliberate on issues concerning senior journalists across the country.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the meeting. Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik and Director of Information and Publicity Deepak Bandekar will attend the opening session, which will be held at 5 pm on March 14 at the Goa Science Centre.
A seminar on “Social Security for Senior Journalists in India” will follow the inaugural ceremony, with senior journalists participating in the discussion.
The National Council’s business session will be held at the Maharaja Agrasen Bhavan on March 15. Around 70 National Council members from various states, along with special invitees, are expected to participate in the two-day meeting.
The Federation has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a national pension scheme for senior journalists, healthcare coverage under schemes such as the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), a centrally sponsored welfare fund, and the establishment of a National Media Commission. The Goa meeting will review the progress made on these demands and discuss future action plans.
The meeting is being hosted by the Goa Senior Journalists' Association in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Publicity, the Senior Journalists Federation of India, and the Goa Union of Journalists.
