Platform Sharing Programme to strengthen Child Protection Mechanism held

Rajouri, March 13 (KIP)- The National Development Foundation organized a Platform Sharing Programme to Strengthen the Child Protection Mechanism at Raj Guru Public School Kallar, Rajouri in collaboration with the District Administration Rajouri and in partnership with UNICEF. The programme aimed to raise awareness about child rights and child protection, highlighting the importance of strengthening the child protection mechanism within schools and communities. Around 120 participants, including teachers, students, and community members, were sensitized on child safety, reporting mechanisms, and the shared responsibility of society in protecting children. During the programme, around 15 student speakers shared their views on child protection and NEP, highlighting the importance of creating safe environments for children and the role of education policies in shaping their future.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the school principal Mr. Nitin Sharma, who appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the efforts of NDF in raising awareness on issues related to children’s safety and education. Mr. Rohit, Programme Officer, addressed the participants and emphasized the need to create a safe and supportive environment for children.
The programme was led under the guidance of Mr. Sunny Kumar, Programme Manager, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between schools, administration, and communities to ensure effective child protection. He encouraged participants to remain aware, proactive, and committed to safeguarding children and promoting their rights, ensuring that every child grows in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Raghuveer Singh, Chairman of RGPS Kallar, who appreciated the efforts of NDF and its partners.
