Councillor Bhimbat Expresses Gratitude to Maharashtra Deputy CM, Eknath Shinde

Drass, March 14 (KIP)-Abdul Wahid, Councillor Bhimbet Constituency Drass, LAHDC Kargil expressed profound gratitude to Shri Eknath Shinde, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra on behalf of the people of Drass Sub-Division for the generous donation of a CT Scan Machine to the Sub-District Hospital Drass Kargil.
The commitment was originally made by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, during his visit to Drass Sub-Division last year on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025. As such, the Councillor diligently followed up on the matter since then to ensure its successful procurement.
Today, Abdul Wahid met Shri Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra and personally conveyed heartfelt thanks from the entire population of Drass. The CT Scan Machine has now been procured, with remaining formalities—including necessary paperwork and assessment of space requirements at the hospital—currently underway. The machine will subsequently be transported to Drass, with an official inauguration ceremony scheduled in the month of June 2026 as per their convenience.
In addition to the above, Shri Eknath Shinde Hon’ble DY CM of Maharashtra has also graciously committed to providing a Force Motors Ambulance for the Sub-District Hospital, Drass, which will also be delivered alongside the CT Scan Machine.
This donation marks a landmark improvement in healthcare infrastructure for Drass, a remote and strategically important area that has historically lacked advanced diagnostic facilities like a CT scan. The new equipment will significantly enhance medical services, reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for scans, and greatly benefit the local population, including civilians and armed forces personnel in the region.
The Councillor also extended gratitude to Dr. Jaffar Akhoon, CEC Kargil for his continuous support in the matter.
