Panun Kashmir: A Community's Mandate Beyond Personalities
17/03/2026
Jammu, March 17 (KIP)-Panun Kashmir has evolved as a historic people’s movement and an organized political response of the Kashmiri Hindu community to the seven successive exoduses it has endured over centuries. It reflects the collective resolve of a civilization that, despite repeated displacement and persecution, has refused to surrender its cultural identity, spiritual legacy, and its rightful place in Kashmir.
This historic resolve found its formal political articulation in the Margdarshan Resolution of 1991, which clearly laid down the community’s aspiration for a secure and dignified homeland in Kashmir within the Indian Union. Panun Kashmir therefore is not merely an institution or a platform; it represents the civilizational expression and political will of a displaced community seeking justice, security, and restoration of its homeland.
Youth 4 Panun Kashmir (Y4PK), as a registered body of committed youth, works within this historic framework, striving to strengthen and carry forward the vision and objectives of the Panun Kashmir movement towards its logical and rightful conclusion.
Panun Kashmir does not belong to any individual, faction, or organization. It embodies the collective aspiration of the Kashmiri Hindu community. The movement has endured because it represents the shared pain, resilience, and determination of a community that continues to seek justice after decades of exile.
Recent developments and the public exchange of allegations and counter-allegations concerning the movement have caused concern within the community. The airing of internal differences in public forums neither serves the dignity of the cause nor the long-term interests of the community.
In this context, Youth 4 Panun Kashmir clarifies that it does not align itself from certain recent statements and press releases circulating in the public domain, as these were issued without consultation with or consent from our organization.
At the same time, it must be acknowledged that differences in perspective or organizational approach are natural in any long-standing movement. Struggles that span generations inevitably evolve, and disagreements should be seen as part of this process rather than as reflections on the commitment of individuals. However, one principle must remain absolutely clear: no one has the moral right to question the patriotism of a Home lander.
Every activist who has stood for the cause of Panun Kashmir has done so by placing Bharat above self, often at significant personal cost and sacrifice. Strategies may differ and leadership may be debated, but questioning the dedication of those committed to the homeland weakens the unity that the movement requires. The strength of the movement lies in remembering that the mission must always stand above individuals. Personal disagreements must never overshadow the historic responsibility that the Panun Kashmir movement represents.
Youth 4 Panun Kashmir therefore reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the Margdarshan Resolution of 1991 and to the collective aspiration of Kashmiri Hindus for a secure and dignified homeland in Kashmir. At this important juncture, we appeal to all activists and members of the community to continue working together with patience, mutual respect, and clarity of purpose. The cause we represent is larger than any temporary differences, and its success depends on the collective maturity and unity of the community.
Youth 4 Panun Kashmir will soon convene a meeting of all old and new activists and stakeholders to discuss the future course of the movement and to ensure that it continues to move forward with unity, dignity, and commitment to its historic objective.Because ultimately, Panun Kashmir belongs not to individuals but to an entire community whose history, sacrifices, and identity it represents.
