Jammu,March 19 (KIP)-The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s Provincial President for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP, claiming the party is rapidly losing ground in Jammu city due to its “complete neglect” of residents and failure to provide basic urban facilities.
Addressing a workers’ meeting of Bahu Assembly segment at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan Jammu, organised by Chander Mohan Sharma District President Jammu Urban. Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial president Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion.

Mr Gupta called upon party functionaries to take the message of good governance under the Omar-led government to every doorstep. He urged workers to mobilise public support and seek a fresh mandate in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections, highlighting the pro-Jammu and pro-poor initiatives undertaken by the government.
Gupta stressed that strengthening the National Conference at the grassroots level is essential to further accelerate development and ensure that the benefits of governance reach every section of society. He appealed to the people to support the party in the ULB polls to reinforce the Omar government and enable the effective implementation of its welfare-oriented policies across Jammu.
Emphasising inclusive and sustainable development, Gupta said the government is committed to bridging urban gaps by improving civic infrastructure, ensuring equitable access to basic services, and promoting environmentally responsible growth. He noted that special focus is being laid on upgrading sanitation, water supply, road connectivity, and green urban spaces, while also creating livelihood opportunities for youth and marginalized communities.
He added that the Omar-led administration envisions a Jammu that is not only modern and well-connected but also socially inclusive, where development benefits reach the last person. “Our goal is to build resilient urban centres that balance growth with sustainability, ensuring a better quality of life for present and future generations,” he said, urging party workers to actively engage with the public and communicate this vision effectively.
