JKPDP leader Narinder Sharma pays tribute to Martyrs on Shaheedi Diwas

RS Pura,March 23 (KIP)-Senior Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) leader Narinder Sharma on Sunday led party workers in paying rich tributes to the legendary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru to mark Shaheedi Diwas at Panchayat Kotli Shah Doula in the RS Pura constituency. The commemorative programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, local residents, youth and prominent members of the area.
The event began with the lighting of candles and the offering of floral tributes to the portraits of the martyrs, followed by a two-minute silence in their honour. The atmosphere remained solemn yet inspiring as speakers recalled the fearless struggle and supreme sacrifice made by the young revolutionaries for the country’s independence. Patriotic slogans were raised, reflecting deep respect and admiration for their legacy.
Addressing the gathering, Narinder Sharma underscored the historical importance of Shaheedi Diwas and said that the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru are not merely chapters of history but living ideals that continue to guide the nation. He said their courage, conviction and spirit of selflessness serve as a timeless reminder of the price paid for the freedom that citizens enjoy today.
Sharma emphasized that in the present times, it is essential to imbibe the values of honesty, unity and dedication shown by these martyrs. He urged the youth to channel their energy towards constructive nation-building and to stand firm against injustice, corruption and social evils. “The legacy of our martyrs teaches us to rise above personal interests and work for the greater good of society and the nation,” he added.
Highlighting the role of young generations, he said that the future of the country lies in their hands and called upon them to follow the path of discipline, hard work and patriotism. He further stressed the need to preserve the spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony, which the freedom fighters stood for.
Several party workers and local speakers also addressed the gathering, sharing their views on the relevance of the martyrs’ ideology in today’s socio-political scenario. They reiterated the importance of safeguarding democratic values and strengthening national unity. The programme concluded with participants collectively reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideals of the freedom struggle and to contribute meaningfully towards building a peaceful, progressive and inclusive society.
