Two-day training on Holistic Progress Card concludes at BRC Chiktan

KARGIL, April 02 (KIP)-A two-day training programme on Holistic Progress Card (HPC) concluded successfully today at Block Resource Centre (BRC) Chiktan.
The training programme was organised with the objective of strengthening the capacity of teachers in adopting holistic and competency-based assessment practices in schools.
Teachers from all Middle and Primary Schools of Zone Chiktan participated in the programme and took part in various interactive sessions, group discussions and practical activities related to the effective implementation of the Holistic Progress Card.
During the training, emphasis was laid on assessing the overall development of students, including their academic performance, co-curricular participation and socio-emotional growth, in line with the broader goals of quality education.
The programme was graced by Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Chiktan, Ghulam Ali, and Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer, Mr. Yahya, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers and the active participation of the teachers.
They also assured continued support for such capacity-building programmes in future to further strengthen the implementation of HPC and improve the quality of education in the zone.
The participants expressed confidence in implementing the Holistic Progress Card effectively in their respective schools for better learning outcomes.
The resource persons for the training included Abdul Aziz, Ansar Hussain, Hassnian, Syed Ahmad Shah and Mohd Sadiq, all teachers from Shakar Chiktan.
MBS Hockey Club and Gobind Club Chatha Register Impressive Wins in Guru Tegh Bahadur Hockey Tournament:
The second day of the ongoing Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Hockey Tournament, being organised by Khalsa Club Gole Gujral under the aegis of Hockey J&K UT, witnessed exciting and competitive matches at KK Hakku Stadium.
In the first match of the day, MBS Hockey Club delivered a commanding performance, defeating Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club by a convincing margin of 6–0.
Sh. Harminder Singh, Deputy Director Prosecution, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sh. Shakti Kumar, a former hockey veteran, attended as the Guest of Honour.
In another match, Gobind Club Chatha outclassed Lachhipura Hockey Club and secured a comfortable victory by 5–1.
On this occasion, Sh. Bashir Ahmad, District Sports Officer (DSO), was the Chief Guest, while renowned RTI activist & Vice President DGPC S. Balvinder Singh was present as the Guest of Honour.
It is noteworthy that this prestigious hockey tournament could not be organised for several years due to the partisan approach of the previous hockey association. The organisers and hockey enthusiasts expressed their gratitude to Hockey J&K UT for facilitating the revival of this historic tournament, thereby promoting and revitalising the game of hockey in the region.
Among the distinguished former hockey players present were S. Iqbal Singh, S. Manjit Singh Reen, S. Ravinder Singh Bitta, S. Bhappi, S. Satbir Singh Sati, S. Harjinder Singh (IFFCO), S. R.S. Sudan, and S. P.P. Singh.
The matches were efficiently conducted under the supervision of the technical officiating panel comprising S Satbir Singh Satti, S. Jagjit Singh, S. Iqbal Singh, S. Gurjeet Singh, S. Karanjit Singh, S. Satwant Singh, S. J.S. Reen, Ms. Gargi, and S. P.D. Singh
The tournament will continue tomorrow, with four quarter-final matches scheduled to be played between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
