Vijay Lochan Reaffirms NC’s Commitment to SC Upliftmen

Urges Cadre to Prepare for Polls

Samba, April 08 (KIP)-The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) SC Cell Chairman, Vijay Lochan, today reiterated that the upliftment of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community remains the cornerstone of the party’s vision and mission.



Addressing a convention of the party’s SC wing at Garh Mandi, Samba, Lochan highlighted the historic reforms introduced under the leadership of Sheikh Abdullah, including land-to-the-tiller policies, liquidation of rural indebtedness, abolition of jagirdari and muafi systems, protection of tenant rights, and wage enhancements for labourers.



He emphasized that these measures brought significant socio-economic transformation, particularly benefiting marginalized communities. Lochan also underscored initiatives in education, healthcare, and food security that improved living standards, with special gains for the SC population in Jammu and Kashmir.



Stating that the condition of SC communities in J&K is better compared to many other parts of the country, he credited the NC’s progressive policies for the progress achieved.



Lochan further said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to following the same developmental blueprint and addressing setbacks of the past decade.

He urged party workers, especially members of the SC wing, to gear up for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections with full preparedness.
