IBC Organises Exhibition on Guru Padmasambhava at CIBS, Choglamsar

Leh, May 03 (KIP)- IBC Organises exhibition on Guru Padmasambhava, presented in English, was inaugurated at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS), Choglamsar by the International Buddhist Confederation in the presence of distinguished dignitaries.

The event was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu. He was accompanied by the Chief Secretary of UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra; Secretary General, IBC, Shartse Khensur Rinpoche; Director General, IBC, Abhijit Halder; Secretary Tourism, Sanjit Rodrigues; Secretary Education, Bhanu Prabha; along with other senior officials, dignitaries, Buddhist scholars, and representatives from various organisations.

In his address, Pema Khandu highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the teachings of Guru Padmasambhava, emphasizing their relevance in fostering peace, compassion, and cultural harmony in contemporary society.

The exhibition showcases the life, teachings, and legacy of Guru Padmasambhava, offering visitors valuable insights into his profound contribution to the spread of Buddhism.

A special philatelic exhibition was also displayed, highlighting themes of Buddhism through postage stamps which showcase an extraordinary collection of more than 2,500 postal stamp across the world. Each stamp reflects how the message of Buddha has transcended borders, cultures and generations. The collection was curated by noted Buddhist philatelist Vinod Kumar Shirasangi.

Subsequently, a special postal cover was released by Post India Ladakh Office dedicated to the ongoing Holy Relics exposition in UT Ladakh

The exhibition is expected to attract scholars, devotees, and visitors, serving as a platform for cultural exchange and spiritual enrichment
