Jammu, May 09(KIP)-J&K BJP Mahila Morcha, led by its President Advocate Neha Mahajan, held a comprehensive review and strategy meeting at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma chiefly addressed the meeting. BJP Mahila Morcha Prabhari Veenu Khanna, Seh-Prabhari Shailja Gupta, General Secretaries Urvashi Gupta, Geeta Bhagat, and Poonam Gupta, along with district office bearers and members of the Mahila Morcha state team from across Jammu & Kashmir, were present.

The meeting focused on BJP’s women-led development approach and the role of Mahila Morcha in strengthening women empowerment initiatives across Jammu & Kashmir. Detailed discussions were held on increasing women’s participation in political, social, and economic spheres, while ensuring greater leadership opportunities for women at every organizational level.

Sat Sharma, while addressing the meeting, appreciated the efforts of Mahila Morcha activists in taking the policies and programmes of the BJP government to the grassroots level. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has changed the national narrative from “women development” to “women-led development” by empowering women politically, socially, and economically.

Sat Sharma highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to bring the women reservation bill, which provides 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. He said that the legislation could prove a landmark step towards ensuring meaningful participation of women in democratic institutions and strengthening their role in policy-making and governance. He said that while the BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked for the women’s reservation and thus empowerment, opposition parties led by the Congress betrayed the women empowerment by opposing the women reservation bill, despite women constituting nearly 50 percent of the country’s population.

Sat Sharma further said that the BJP believes in real empowerment through leadership opportunities, financial inclusion, education, skill development, and self-reliance initiatives for women. He also urged Mahila Morcha activists to actively participate in the upcoming Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Varg to strengthen organizational skills and public outreach.

Adv Neha Mahajan said that BJP Mahila Morcha remains committed to furthering the mission of women empowerment envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She called upon all office bearers and activists to work with greater coordination and dedication to strengthen the booth-level structure and ensure the successful implementation of women-centric outreach programmes across Jammu & Kashmir.
