DC Leh visited Chumur, the first village situated along the Indo-China border

Chumur/Leh, May 09(KIP)- Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, along with Deputy Commissioner Changthang, Nitish Rajora, visited Chumur, the first village of Changthang district situated along the Indo-China border.

Chumur is a remote border village with around 24 households, known for its rich cultural heritage and traditional nomadic lifestyle. Surrounded by vast high-altitude mountains and grazing pastures, the village is home to families who primarily depend on livestock rearing. Despite the harsh climatic conditions and difficult terrain, the residents continue to preserve their age-old customs, traditions, and unique way of life.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioners were accompanied by SDM Nyoma, Kacho Asgar Ali Khan; Colonel Anuj Sharma, CEO 5 RR; Naib Tehsildar; BMO; and other departmental officers and officials.
