Srinagar, May 26 (KIP)- On the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, J&K Contractors Coordination Committee, Chairman Ghulam Jeelani Purza, has conveyed his warmest greetings and best wishes to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the entire Muslim Ummah.
In his eid greetings message, Jeealani Purza prayed that this blessed festival may bring peace, happiness, prosperity and countless blessings to every family. He said Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes the spirit of sacrifice, devotion, compassion, brotherhood and inspires people to uphold the values of humanity, generosity and mutual respect in society.
He also expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen communal harmony, unity and the bonds of togetherness among people from all walks of life.
Extending his special greetings to the contractor fraternity, Purza appreciated their tireless efforts and valuable role in infrastructure development, public welfare and economic progress across Jammu & Kashmir. However, he said that despite repeated assurances and demands placed before the authorities regarding the genuine issues faced by contractors, especially the long-pending payments, no concrete action has been taken so far.
Jeelani Purza said the contractor fraternity is facing severe financial hardships and numerous challenges, particularly on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, due to the non-release of pending bills and payments. He stated that thousands of families associated with the sector are suffering because contractors are unable to clear liabilities of labours, suppliers and meet essential expenses during this festival.
He once again appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led Government and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s Administration to immediately release the pending payments of contractors and address their long-standing genuine demands without further delay.
Purza futher said “Contractors have played a major role in the development and execution of public projects across Jammu & Kashmir. The government must come forward and ensure immediate relief to the contractor fraternity,”.
He concluded, “May this sacred occasion fill every home with joy, peace, prosperity and may Eid-ul-Adha bring renewed hope and happiness to all. Eid Mubarak.”
