CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon Reviews Progress of Development Projects

Kargil, May 30(KIP)- Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a comprehensive review meeting with officials of various executing agencies to assess the physical and financial progress of ongoing developmental projects across the district at Council Secretariat LAHDC kargil.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba Superintending Engineer, R&B, Dr. Tsering Thinlas; Executive Engineer, Kargil Development Authority (KDA), Aga Syed Mehdi; Executive Engineer, R&B Kargil, Mansoor Hussain; Executive Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) and PHE Kargil, Ghulam Hussain; Executive Engineer, REW Kargil, Fiza Bano; and In-charge Executive Engineer, R&B Sub-Division Sankoo, Iftikhar Hussain, along with other concerned officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Executive Councillor conducted a detailed review of the status of ongoing projects being executed under various schemes, including SDP, Capex and other development programmes. Discussions focused on project-wise progress, financial status, timelines for completion, pending liabilities, compensation payments, and bottlenecks affecting implementation.
Special emphasis was laid on projects that have achieved substantial physical progress and are currently in the final stages of completion, particularly those with 70%, 80% and 90% completion status. The CEC directed all concerned departments to prepare a comprehensive list of such projects and ensure their timely completion ahead of the proposed visit of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
Dr. Akhoon instructed the executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing projects and adhere strictly to the prescribed timelines. He emphasized the importance of timely execution to ensure that the benefits of developmental initiatives reach the public without delay.
The CEC also directed the concerned departments to expedite the release of pending compensation payments and clear outstanding liabilities related to developmental works in accordance with established procedures.
He also stressed that all administrative approvals, financial sanctions, of new project/ Works must accelerate without unnecessary delays.
Reiterating the commitment of LAHDC Kargil towards infrastructure development and public welfare, Dr. Akhoon urged all departments to work in close coordination and maintain regular monitoring of projects to ensure quality
