DC Zanskar commences Border Villages Visit Programme with review of developmental projects

Leh,June 14 (KIP)-Zanskar, Deputy Commissioner Zanskar, Shri Omkar Rajendra Gundage, IAS, undertook an official visit to Shinkula and adjoining region, where he reviewed key development projects, public services, and infrastructure works.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Medical Sub-Centre at Kargyak and assessed healthcare services being provided to local residents.

Furthermore, he visited the tourist camp area at Gonbo Rangjon and reviewed facilities available for visitors while discussing tourism-related issues with stakeholders.

Shri Gundage reviewed the progress of the strategically important Shinkula Tunnel Project and held discussions with the concerned officials regarding the timely completion of the works. He also inspected the boundary status at different locations in Zanskar and took stock of local concerns.

At Sarchu, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with residents and heard their grievances and demands. He assured them that genuine issues would be addressed on priority by the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner further inspected the suspension bridge at Chumik Gyalsa and assured residents that efforts would be made to facilitate the construction of a motorable bridge to improve connectivity in the area.

The visit was accompanied by Tehsildar Zanskar Mohammad Hassan, Executive Engineers PHE and R&B, ZEO Zanskar, CDPO Zanskar, BDO Lungnak, Chief Inspector (Food and Supplies), AIO Zanskar and other district officers.
