Thousands of Youth Aspirations Crushed by NC govt's Backdoor Recruitment Policy in J&K: Pawan Sharma

Jammu, June 27 (KIP)- BJP Jammu & Kashmir State Secretary Pawan Sharma has strongly criticized the National Conference-led Jammu & Kashmir Government over its alleged backdoor appointment policy, stating that it has dealt a serious blow to the aspirations, hopes, and future of thousands of educated unemployed youth across the Union Territory.
In a statement issued today, Pawan Sharma said that at a time when lakhs of young men and women are preparing tirelessly for competitive examinations and waiting for transparent recruitment processes, the government’s reported preference for backdoor appointments has deeply shaken public confidence in the principles of merit, fairness, and equal opportunity.
He said that the youth of Jammu & Kashmir have consistently demonstrated their talent, dedication, and determination despite numerous challenges. However, instead of creating a level playing field and ensuring recruitment through transparent and competitive procedures, the government appears to be encouraging a system that benefits a select few while sidelining deserving candidates.
Pawan Sharma observed that such practices not only violate the spirit of transparency and accountability but also weaken public faith in democratic institutions. He stated that every government job belongs to the people and must be filled strictly on the basis of merit, eligibility, and established recruitment norms. Any attempt to bypass these principles is an injustice to countless deserving aspirants who invest years of hard work and sacrifice in pursuit of employment.
He further said that Jammu & Kashmir is witnessing an unprecedented level of unemployment, and the government should focus on creating more opportunities for youth rather than adopting policies that raise questions about fairness and integrity in recruitment. The dreams of educated youth cannot be compromised for political convenience or favoritism.
Pawan Sharma urged the government to immediately ensure complete transparency in all recruitment processes and make public all details related to appointments made through non-competitive means. He also demanded that all government vacancies be filled through fair, open, and merit-based selection procedures to restore confidence among job seekers.
“The youth of Jammu & Kashmir deserve justice, equal opportunity, and a system that rewards merit. Their future cannot be sacrificed through backdoor policies that undermine transparency and fairness. Every deserving candidate must be given an equal chance to compete and succeed,” he asserted.
Pawan Sharma reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of unemployed youth and ensuring that government recruitment remains transparent, accountable, and merit-driven.
