DC Kargil Inspects Preparations for Suru Summer Fest 2026 at Damsna

Kargil, August 06 (KIP)- Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today visited Damsna to inspect the preparations for the upcoming Suru Summer Fest 2026 and reviewed the arrangements being made for the successful conduct of the event.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the, Councillor Tai Suru, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kargil, Deputy Director Tourism, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Assistant Director Tourism, besides other officers and officials from the concerned departments.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the preparations and inquired about the installation of stalls, public address (PA) system, beautification works, fishing point, wooden track installation and other essential arrangements at the venue. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all facilities are completed well before the commencement of the festival.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Kargil Development Authority to undertake pebble stone filling at identified locations, expedite the installation of wooden tracks, and ensure uninterrupted power supply at the venue. He also reviewed the arrangements for power backup, paragliding sites, rafting points and other recreational facilities to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors and participants.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Forest Park and instructed the concerned department to take up beautification works, trim overgrown grass, prevent uncontrolled grazing, and address waterlogging issues at various locations to improve the overall aesthetics and accessibility of the park.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized close coordination among all departments and directed the concerned officers to complete the pending works in a time-bound manner to ensure the successful and smooth conduct of Suru Summer Fest 2026.
