Chief Secretary reviews preparations for implementation of Reform Utsav in Ladakh

Leh, August 17 (KIP)-Chief Secretary UT of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, today chaired a meeting to review and discuss the proposed implementation of Reform Utsav in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
During the meeting, Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department (PD&MD), Shri Himanshu Gupta, made a detailed presentation on the phase-wise implementation of Reform Utsav. The presentation covered the proposed portal, governance framework, sensitisation at the UT level, the proposed UT-level function and various deliverables associated with the initiative.
Detailed discussions were held on the awareness campaign proposed to commence from September 11, with emphasis on extensive media outreach, institutional and stakeholder channels, and on-ground and community mobilisation to ensure wider public participation and awareness. The meeting also discussed the deliverables and preparations required for the respective phases of the programme.
Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra stressed the need for extensive broadcast and mass publicity through the Information & Public Relations (IPR) Department to ensure effective outreach of Reform Utsav across the UT. He also emphasised the importance of comprehensive stakeholder mapping and coordinated engagement with various departments, institutions and community stakeholders.
The meeting further deliberated on the proposed launch of Jan Manthan, along with the Vimarsh and Jan Samadhan deliverables. Discussions were also held on the identification and compilation of reform suggestions and mechanisms for taking these suggestions forward as part of the Reform Utsav initiative.
The Chief Secretary directed all concerned departments and stakeholders to ensure coordinated efforts and timely completion of the identified deliverables, with a focus on effective public engagement, awareness and participation.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner Secretary, Shurbir Singh; Commissioner Secretary Dr L. Franklin; Administrative Secretary, PD&MD, Himanshu Gupta; Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, Bhanu Prabha; Administrative Secretary, Law & Justice, Qureshi Tariq Mehmood; DIG Leh, Koshal Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk; Deputy Director, Planning, besides other senior officers. Officers stationed outside Leh also participated in the meeting virtually.
