CUKashmir holds hackathon awareness camp

Ganderbal, August 20 (KIP)-Under the Udyam Jagriti 5.0 Campaign of Mission YUVA, and to sensitize and motivate students to pursue innovation, entrepreneurship, Department of Information Technology (DIT), Central University of Kashmir (CUK), organised a Hackathon Awareness Camp in which 100 students participated.
The camp provided an opportunity to the students to understand the objectives of the Mission YUVA Hackathon and explore how innovative ideas can be transformed into practical, sustainable and employment-generating ventures.
The programme was attended by Ms. Beenish Wani, AD Employment; Ms. Saima, CCO; Mr. Salim Rashid, SDBU Lead; Mr. Gowhar, BHD Lead; and Mr. Farzan Amin, SBDU Coordinator, whose interaction with the students provided valuable insights into the opportunities available through Mission YUVA and the Hackathon initiative. Dr. Javed Ahmad and Dr. Zahoor Ahmad were also present.
An important highlight of the camp was the interactive idea-generation and brainstorming session, where students were encouraged to observe challenges in their surroundings, identify potential areas of intervention, and develop innovative solutions based on local needs and resources. The students came forward with several promising ideas, particularly in the areas of agricultural innovation, strengthening and promotion of the artisan sector, and Shikara-based tourism experiences.
The programme was held under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, whose encouragement towards student innovation and entrepreneurship added significance to the initiative. The organizers thanked Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool and Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, for their encouragement in facilitating student-centric initiatives at the University.
The session was moderated by Asst Prof. Dr Yash Paul, who encouraged students to actively engage in the idea-generation and brainstorming process.
