Sunderbani, October 05 (KIP)- Former MLC and Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Mr Ravinder Sharma has said that government has derailed and turned the entire panchayat Raj system defunct by indulging into gross illegalities and fraud with the common people in villages ,as works prioritised by them are not taken up and gram sabhas have been turned into a mere formalities and eye wash.

Reacting to the grievance of the people in a workers meeting at Sunderbani, Mr Ravinder Sharma took exception to the complaint that gram sabha meetings have been turned into eye wash and most of the works identified by the villagers are dripped on political considerations ,which is complete violation of Panchayat Raj Act.

The people expressed great resentment and decided to take to streets to highlight the glaring irregularities and illegalities besides the role of middle men. The entire Panchayat Raj system has been derailed and made defunct in the absence of PRIs.

The meeting demanded early elections to Panchayats and Local bodies to empower the people at grass root levels.
The meeting decided to take to streets for the genuine demands of people as the administration is not responsive to the burning issues of different sections.

Mr Sharma regretted that the urgent repairs and restoration of Ashram to Doba, Lamman road has not been taken up despite approach to the elected representatives and higher authorities and decided to launch agitation for the same ti force the authorities to do the needful at the earliest.
On the issue of Vote Chori, Mr Sharma asked the people to join the ongoing movement for " Vote Bachao,Desh Bachao " under the umbrella of INDIA Block to force the government to remove Gyanesh Kumar and streamline the electoral system.

The meeting discussed measures to strengthen the party by holding panchayat wise meetings and constitution of committees besides nominating Coordinators for different Ashok Kumar nominated for Block Devak, Keshav Raina for block Siot.


The meeting also expressed concern over the presence of Suspected terrorists in parts of Sunderbani and demanded strengthening of security in the border belt besides VDGs in the area.

Block Presidents NC Sharma, Ajit Singh, DCC Vice President Yog Raj Sharma, Principals retd Deep Kumar, Keshav Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Om parkash,,Anwar Chaudhary, Ashwani Kumar, Govind Sudan, Tilak Raj, Madan Lal and several other Block and district functionaries attended.
