Police check SIM vendor shops in Handwara; Stress strict verification & compliance

Srinagar, October 08 (KIP)- Police in Handwara conducted checking of SIM vendor shops at Magam falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Magam to ensure strict compliance with prescribed guidelines governing the sale and activation of SIM cards.
The vendors were directed to properly verify the identity and credentials of customers, maintain all requisite records, and remain vigilant against any possible misuse of SIM cards. They were further advised to adhere strictly to all applicable guidelines and cooperate with Police in safeguarding against misuse of telecommunication services.
